Finalist for Rare Artist Contest 2021

IMG_8755.JPG

I entered my original painting “Hope Through Trees” in the 2021 Rare Artist Contest by the EveryLife Foundation. This contest is for artists with rare diseases that is held every year. All ages are included in different categories from children to adults to enter their art and tell their stories. I submitted “Hope Through Trees” in the Young Adults (ages 20-30) category. This painting was done in oils on canvas. My sister, Shannon, took a picture when we were down in San Luis Obispo during the time my brother was in college at Cal Poly. I loved the photograph and made it my own with my favorite medium, oil paints. It also represents a path of hope that those of us fighting with rare diseases cannot give up. I am so excited to be a finalist in my category, Young Adults!  There were 220 entries and the judges chose 20 of us to be in the finals. The EveryLife Foundation representative told me that the judges had really positive comments about my painting which made me feel great. Now it is up to the public who will vote for their favorites to become a winner in each category. I really would love to win so I hope my followers will please vote for my painting at everylifefoundation.org/rare-artist/. If I win I may have the opportunity to speak with some politicians on Capitol Hill. It would be amazing to have an impact on the support needed by all people with rare diseases. Voting is open from October 1 through October 31, 2021. Thank you!

Thank you again for voting and please share with all of your friends and families. Link to vote
